Vehicle Description Low mileage, Mostly original, Sunroof.
This car is a great example of a mostly original, and a classic, heavy riding American cruiser.
Popular colors, low mileage, and smooth riding! Current owner bought for collection in 2015 because it was such a nice car, but decided it not mostly what he collects.
Power mirrors Fuel injected Leather Vinyl top Wire wheels Steel belted radials Trip log Auto delay (can not verify if it works) Auto dim Tilt wheel Cruise Auto heat and air conditioning Split seats Premium sound system Cassette player Power glass moon roof and shade Paint- Over all the paint is very shiny, smooth, with a nice gloss, and seems to match all the way around.
We have no knowledge of the actual age of the paint, and it could possibly be original.
We did not detect any scratches in the paint.
The panels do have a nick here and there in which most have been brush touched.
Over all it shows very little wear.
The detection of any orange peel or minor imperfections are almost non- existent under the scrutiny of florescent lighting.
(The only exception in notes below) I did detect some orange peel on the trunk between the back edge of the truck lid between the continental emblem, and the top of the left taillight.
You can see a slight difference in the paint shade, and light paint checking but very faintly.
It would be our opinion that there has been some type of repair done at some time, but it may have been yrs ago.
Body- The top and side surfaces are all straight, and look much as you would expect this car to look new.
The gaps around the hood and two doors appear to be uniform all the way around.
The trunk appeared correct with the exception of the left tail light and trunk gap is slightly larger.
After looking car over for sometime, we did detect an almost unnoticeable dimple behind the left door handle, on the quarter panel itself.
Also a slight dimple on the hood on the right front corner.
(See Pics) Magnetic Paint Gauge- In taking several random samples of the approximate paint depth around the entire body of the car, paint appears to be in the 4-6 thousands depth.
This is appropriate particularly if it is the original paint.
I want to note that in the front, first two feet of the left quarter, and the trunk repair area the paint is slightly thicker.
Bright Work- We did not notice any pitting on any of the bright work.
The painted black area on all the windows is intact, which often does not last if the car is exposed to weather much.
All of the bright work on the car, including the chrome and stainless seems to be fastened properly.
We did not see any damage to any of the bright work on the car.
Chrome on the bumpers show little to no wear.
Only exception would be a couple of very light surface scratches on the tops of the front and rear bumpers.
The area where the drivers arm would rest with the window down does have a few scratches on it.
Glass- All of the glass looks very clear and seems to be free of any delamination, cracks, scratches, discoloring, or wiper marks.
The front windshield may have a couple of pin head size nicks from normal driving, and a slight bulls-eye down near the serial number.
(See Pics) The main door glass and vent windows are Car lite, and the windshield is Solex.
There are no markings or indication of brand that we can see on the, opera windows, and rear glass.
Top- The vinyl top has nice even coloring, without any mismatching.
The vinyl materiel is very soft and supple, which has to do with it not being out in the elements.
With all white tops they do need cleaned, and there is some light wear on the stitching.
(See Pics) Interior- In reviewing the interior, it looks to us that it may be all original without any restoration.
The coloring on the carpet and seats is nice and dark and not faded.
We have no way of knowing if it has the original mates or a replacement set.
All vinyl material seems to have not received much sunlight, as they have held up well.
The leather has the usual light wear that you get from sitting.
It is still fairly soft and supple, and does not have a tremendous amount of cracking.
The chrome, knobs on the dash, and steering wheel show very little wear.
The plastic center on the steering wheel is unscratched.
The covering on the sliding sunroof shade and the visors need to be refastened, which is typical in cars of this era.
The right rear ash tray cover, (that you can see is up) needs a new locking mechanism.
(See Pics) There is an area that was attempted to be repaired on drivers seat back.
(See Pics) Drivers mat has a small fray.
Trunk- The trunk area shows virtually no wear at all, and all the covering material seems to be well fastened.
(Including the matching tire cover).
Trunk includes a full size spare and tire.
You will see labels still on the bottom side of the trunk lid.
The trunk lid will not stay up by itself and needs some attention.
Tires and Wheels- Michelin Symmetry Tires.
None of the tires and wheels appear to show any damage, including curb damage.
The finish shows a bit of age and could possibly be polished.
Yet they still have a nice shine and match well.
(See Pics) The lugs appear to be covered with caps, possibly to make them look the way they do.
The left side several of the lugs possibly need covers purchased to make them match.
My experience is sometimes the lugs will vibrate and fall off.
Left Front- P215/70/R15 9/32 Right Front- P215/70/R15 9/32 Left Rear- P215/70/R15 9/32 Right Rear- P215/70/R15 9/32 Engine and Transmission- The engine bay area looks to be mostly as it was designed and built new with the exception of maintenance items.
The radiator cap and hoses, fan belt, oil filter, coolant hoses, and clamps have been changed do to normal maintenance needs.
The balance of everything looks as I would expect it to look originally.
The right fender well has two connectors that we don't know whether they are additional or factory ports for diagnostics.
Chassis- It is apparent (looking at the car) that it has not seen exposure to much weather.
(See Pics) It's a great example of a car that had been used enough to keep it lubricated and functional, but yet has not been taken out in weather that would deteriorate it.
In looking at the frame we do not see any apparent rust perforation.
We did not see any obvious areas where frame repair was made.
Looking at the floor pans, they appear to be without rust perforation and showing very little exposure to the weather.
The underside has been kept all natural and un-coated, which is a great way to see exactly how it has naturally aged.
The underside is in very nice and certainly mostly untouched condition.
You will see some light oil seepage from the engine area.
(See Pics) The transmission and rear end appear very dry.
(See Pics) The front disc pads appear to be some what more recent as well a.
