Artley Model 5-0-IN open hole silver headjoint flute AS-IS for sale in Canton, OH
This rare Artley Model 5-0-IN open hole flute belonged to my daughter. It has a silver headjoint and the serial number is 654129.The body and headjoint are in beautiful condition. I don't see any dents, although it does have normal surface scratches, as you would find with all used flutes. Unfortunately, it will need some work before it can be a reliable instrument, since it has a sad story to tell.My daughter, who is an advanced player, played it regularly, but it was not sealing quite right and was needing a repad, so I took it to a local music shop and paid for a complete overhaul with new pads, springs, cork, etc.Unfortunately, when we received it back, it was obvious that it was not done correctly. The pads are not sized correctly. (Please see pictures.) It does not appear to be in adjustment. The music shop insisted that it was the instrument's fault. It does play all the notes... most of the time. Once in a while a pad sticks, which makes me think it may be ready to fall out?I have since taken it to another music store and have been told that the flute is good, but I would need to pay again for a repad, so we have decided to buy another used open hole flute for about the same price as the repad and are selling this one to someone who can make it reliable again! Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
