Marathon Petroleum Company LP, a recognized leader in the energy industry, is accepting applications for a Mechanical Engineering position in its Ohio Refining Division's Maintenance Inspection Department located in Canton, Ohio.
The position will report to the Maintenance Inspection Supervisor and is responsible for supporting plant viability through the use of knowledge of fixed equipment to troubleshoot and decrease lost opportunities, ensure proper repair of fixed equipment, and specify new and replacement equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Provide technical support and assistance relating to NDE requirements, metallurgy, and code/standard requirements associated with repairs of piping, pressure vessels and other related equipment.
Act as plant lead for fixed equipment RBI analysis and inspection planning
Increase the reliability of plant fixed equipment through equipment evaluation and technical assistance as needed during repairs, troubleshooting performance issues, identification of bad actors, and initiation of reliability recommendations.
Support the Mechanical Integrity program by reviewing data from preventative maintenance activities, monitoring those activities for effectiveness and frequency, and reviewing the data developed from the fixed equipment inspections.
Design and specification review for new and replacement fixed equipment both for maintenance and on new construction.
Collaborating with the maintenance planning group on off-site repair plans, resources and oversight.
Documenting new equipment in refinery databases, reviewing of current equipment in database.
Review of proper parts stocking levels for fixed equipment.
Act as a refinery area team liaison to communicate reliability issues and needs to the appropriate technical resource while acting as the fixed equipment technical resource for each of the area teams
Provide technical guidance on various corrosion and damage mechanism affecting fixed equipment.
Assist with initial specification, installation considerations, and commissioning for fixed equipment on projects.
Develop new reliability programs that drive improvements in refinery availability and reduction of maintenance costs.
Provide technical support during shutdown/turnaround activities.
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
Three years of experience with fixed equipment is preferred.
A strong working knowledge of ASME Section VIII and ASME B31.3 is preferred.
Have or be able to obtain API and NBIC Inspection certifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
