An original equipment manufacturer located south of Canton is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for their team.
The primary thrust of this role will be the design of hydraulic equipment, tools, and systems from concept. Additional responsibilities will include following product from prototype, through performance testing, to production launch and customer support
The ideal candidate will possess design experience utilizing large hydraulic cylinders for lifting and stabilization applications
Job duties include:
Design conceptual layout of hydraulic equipment, tools, and systems
Overseeing the work of designers/drafters in the development of working drawing and BOMs for manufacturing
Specify materials and components for purchasing
Coordinate the manufacturing of components and assembly of units
Test, evaluate, and modify equipment for performance and cost reduction initiatives
Monitor customer feedback
Travel to customer sites (domestic and international)
Position requirements include:
Associates Degree (BSME preferred)
5 years of hydraulic cylinder/system design experience
Hands-on experience with SolidWorks design software
Working knowledge of associated manufacturing processes
Demonstrated experience with taking a product from concept to production
Ability to travel as needed (up to 25% of time)
