Compensation and Benefits Specialist Position Information Full-Time/part time: Full-Time Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Targeted Hiring Salary: $43,610 - $54,513 Position
Summary: This position partners with the HR Director to ensure that compensation and benefit programs support their objectives by helping to attract and retain key and critical talent. Ensures compliance with the total compensation and salary administration procedures and processes. Understands and applies regulatory requirements related to compensation such as the Fair Labor Standards Act ( FLSA ), Equal Pay Act ( EPA ), etc. Prepare employment offers per established guidelines. Develop employment contracts and administer employment paperwork for processing. Process internal status changes resulting from Hay Evaluations, Interim positions and salary adjustments. Develops and documents procedures to streamline compensation and benefit processes. Leads the Hay evaluation process and wage/salary updates for employees, including job description development which impact salary ranges, salary adjustments and contracts. Administers employee benefit programs and/or manages the providers of the benefits. Specific plan duties include the following: retirement programs, 403b, Alternative Retirement Plans, health plans, COBRA, FMLA and other leave administration, life insurance and other plans. Partners closely with the department Director on a regular basis to develop, implement, and maintain benefits plans and policy changes. Analyze human resource data, generate options and recommendations and prepare reports. Prepares and responds to benefit and compensation surveys and related reports requested on behalf of the department and college. Working knowledge of applicable state and federal laws regarding benefits. Prepares and monitors part time employee hours reporting in compliance with the Affordable Care Act. , Business or related discipline. Experience/Qualifications Requirements: Excellent analytical and quantitative skills to collect and analyze data, identify issues, and solve problems. Knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local regulations as they relate to human resources. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple work assignments. Skill in performing basic data analysis and determining relevant and irrelevant data Demonstrated ability to proactively identify problems, analyze solutions and make results-driven recommendations. A minimum of 2 years' experience in the employee compensation and benefits field, preferably in higher education. Ability to apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and non-standard situations. High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts. Licensure or Certification Requirements: Certified Compensation Professional ( CCP ) preferred. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
