The primary purpose of this position is to patrol assigned areas and report activity that may be illegal, dangerous, or in violation of SMHA policies and procedures.
Respond to complaints and tips concerning program violations, thefts from, and/or attempts to defraud the Stark Metropolitan Housing Authority (SMHA or Agency).
All activities must support SMHA's strategic goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of the work being performed in this position.

Patrol assigned areas, report any activity that may be illegal, dangerous, or in violation of SMHA lease agreements; maintains accurate records of problem situations, gather information while on assignment, and maintains a visible presence at developments occupied by SMHA residents.
Assists with setouts as determined and assigned by the Security and Compliance Coordinator.
Secures SMHA buildings and parking areas as assigned; monitors Central Office lobby and events scheduled at an assigned facility; is available to respond to emergencies such as fires, power outages, etc.

Reports and records any action that was taken during an investigation.
Interacts with SMHA residents.
Camera surveillance and review.
Enforces parking and house rule violations.
Miscellaneous Devotes appropriate attention to SMHA objectives as assigned, ensuring that such goals are met or exceeded.
Works weekends, and after hours and maintains an on-call status as needed.
Maintains a record of acceptable attendance and punctuality.
Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possession of a valid, State of Ohio vehicle operator's license is required and must be insurable under SMHA's automobile insurance policy.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be capable of using legal case management, database, e-mail, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
Knowledge of common office equipment and machines is required.
Must be able to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to visit and move about SMHA properties, meet with residents, conduct investigations, and observe property activities.
The incumbent is also often required to maintain a stationary position, operate computers and other office equipment, move about the office, attend onsite and offsite meetings, and communicate.
The employee must be able to accurately exchange information in person, in writing, and via e-mail and telephone.
The employee must occasionally transport up to 40 pounds.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
