General Manager
Fresh Mark is seeking a General Manager to join their team in Canton, Ohio.
This GM role will be responsible overseeing all operations within production, maintenance, and sanitation at the Canton location.
They will oversee 2 plant managers, a 45-person maintenance crew, and over 500 union employees working at the location.
Core Responsibilities Directs all aspects of the business operations at the Canton facility, including management of manufacturing, maintenance, and sanitation.
Control of all operational aspects including revenue growth, profit, operations & production Prepare an annual manufacturing plan and policy guidelines to drive the performance of key production categories and continuous implementation monitoring.
Optimally ensure that manufacturing units improve on the standard efficiencies in terms of machine efficiencies, material yields, labor, and overhead costs versus budget.
Develop and nurture a diverse manufacturing workforce through a performance driven culture.
Works to ensure that the facility's financial goals are met, including monthly profitability and targets.
Works with the Plant Managers and controller to ensure that the facility's operational activities and tactical actions are executed so that the plant's working capital is properly managed.
Provides information to the Vice President of Production Operations in a timely manner, including daily/weekly/monthly reporting requirements and other ad hoc information requests.
Frequently researches cost savings opportunities, leading and monitoring all progress in capturing savings opportunities.
Work in collaboration with the facility HR manager on employee management, while being a champion for safety at the facility.
Enforces all company policies, including safety, production, quality, sales, human resources, customer service and accounting policies.
Monitors the facility's equipment needs and ensures that the appropriate teams are working to keep the company's equipment and facility properly maintained.
Understands the technical aspects of the facility's manufacturing processes to provide support to departmental personnel.
Drives standardization practices throughout the organization that align with other facilities.
Coach and develop operations staff to build high performing teams.
Promotes cross training to optimize workforce, ensures functional coverage, reduce labor costs, and supports succession planning.
Works in collaboration with Human Resources to seek out ways to motivate and develop employees.
Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in operations management or business.

years of operations and management experience, preferably having a General Manager/Operations Manager role within the meat processing and manufacturing industry.
Experience working with high-profile customers within the food industry.
This GM must come from a background of overseeing all operations within a plant including daily operations and managing the budget of that facility.
Experience in managing continuous improvement projects and the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Proficient in CMMS, ERP systems, PowerBI and Microsoft Office Recommended Skills Business Process Improvement Coaching And Mentoring Computerized Maintenance Management Systems Cost Reduction Customer Service Enterprise Resource Planning Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
